The Awards Committee welcomes nominations for awards recipients from members. Nominations should be sent to the committee in care of the executive director by March 1. It is very helpful to receive nominations in writing; please include your name, the name of the individual you are nominating, the award you think the person should receive, the reason you think this individual should be given an award, and any other information about the nominee's work. Nominations may be sent by email.
The Awards Committee is appointed by the president and consists of the current president, the immediate past-president, immediate past recipient of the Douglas Award (or if that person chooses not to serve on the committee, a previous Douglas Award recipient selected by the president), one additional member of the Board of Governors, and three additional members of the organization not currently serving on the Board. In addition the Executive Director serves as a non-voting member of the committee.
