ESPADA DEFENSA CRIMINAL seeks an experience felony trial attorney.
We are a law firm dedicated to defending Latinx people against serious criminal charges. Clients hire us to defend them in cases involving sex, drugs, violence, and firearms.
We are looking for an experienced felony trial attorney to join our team. Applicants should have at least five (5) years’ experience as an attorney and at least two (2) years’ experience in criminal defense in the State of Washington.
Spanish-speaking is not required, but applicants who speak Spanish will be given extra consideration.
Trial attorneys are assigned cases by the managing attorney and are responsible for communications with court and prosecution, reviewing discovery, litigating discovery production, motions, and trial. The trial attorney will work with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to litigate cases. Non-Spanish speakers will have the assistance of Spanish-speaking attorneys and assistants to help the trial attorney communicate with clients and family.
Because we take cases all over Washington, travel, including overnight travel, will be required on occasion. Our staff takes care of setting up Zoom court appearances, travel arrangements, jail entry and video visits, and other details so that trial attorneys can take care of business.
Compensation: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year, DOE; Health Insurance after a six month period.
Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited law school and at least five (5) years’ experience as an attorney with at least two (2) of those in criminal defense practice in Washington. Applicants should be comfortable carrying their own caseload, including A, B, and C felonies.
