National Criminal Defense College Scholarship
Applications for WACDL’s Irwin Schwartz Scholarship to the National Criminal Defense College’s Trial Practice Institute are due on March 15. The institute is a two-week program held twice annually in Macon, Georgia. The program combines lectures and demonstrations by nationally recognized faculty with small group exercises and individual assignments. The program dates for 2017 are June 11-24 and July 16-29.
The Schwartz Scholarship provides full tuition and housing for one WACDL member to attend the Trial Practice Institute. The scholarship recipient must provide travel expenses. Schwartz Scholarship recipients must be WACDL members practicing criminal defense — with a demonstrated commitment to the representation of indigent criminal defendants — in the State of Washington.
