Why I'm a WACDL Member - Amy Muth

" If you want your clients to benefit from the combined knowledge of over 1000 lawyers, become a member of WACDL."

I've been a member of WACDL longer than the bar association.  I moved out here after graduating from law school and joined while I was studying for the bar exam.  Joining WACDL is hands-down the best thing I have done for my legal practice.

I've made so many friends and colleagues, from whom I've learned an incredible amount of information, who step in to help when I'm in trial or out of the office, and who refer me cases.

I've been able to finely hone legal arguments and perfect briefs and trial strategy by making full use of the WACDL list-serves.  I've also been able to give back to the organization by presenting at CLEs, writing articles for Defense Magazine and amicus briefs, serving on the board and as an officer, and in co-chairing multiple committees and task forces.

Through WACDL, I've also been able to work to change unjust laws through testifying before the Legislature on WACDL's behalf and participating in legislative task forces.

Everything I've done through WACDL has made me into a better lawyer, and I treasure the friends and colleagues I've become close to through being active in WACDL.  If you want your clients to benefit from the combined knowledge of over 1000 lawyers, become a member of WACDL.

Amy Muth is in private practice in Seattle, focusing much of her practice on representing those accused of sex offenses.
