Lauren Bramwell, Executive Director

Lauren Bramwell (she/they) graduated from Boise State University with a dual degree in Communication and Political Science with an emphasis in public law and political philosophy. Prior to obtaining her juris doctorate degree, Lauren served as the Interim Assistant Director of Forensics at Boise State University, where she founded and directed the Boise State Prison Debate Initiative, an inside-out modeled classroom designed to increase educational opportunities for people who are incarcerated. Lauren went on to obtain her legal education at the University of Washington School of Law, where she was recognized as a Gates Public Service Law Scholar. She practiced public defense in King County, WA before joining the ACLU of Idaho as their policy strategist and policy counsel. In that role, she served as the organization’s chief lobbyist, where she worked in partnership with coalition and community to advance and defend Idahoans’ civil rights and civil liberties. Her legislative docket encompassed a variety of criminal legal reform issues including wrongful conviction compensation, raising Idaho’s grand theft statutory threshold, halting legislative attacks on Idaho’s community bail funds, fighting against death penalty secrecy legislation, and leading legislative and administrative advocacy work propelled by the ACLU of Idaho’s ongoing litigation in Tucker v. State of Idaho-- a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Idaho’s public defense system.

Camille Winslow, Program Coordinator

Camille began working at WACDL as a Program Assistant in October of 2021. She was promoted to the role of Program Coordinator in July of 2023. She is responsible for the planning and execution of all WACDL events and performs general administrative tasks. Camille graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Design and continuously works to improve upon WACDL's overall branding. She has also completed a Certificate in Video Production at the University of Washington. Camille has over 5 years of experience working in administrative assistant roles, and 2 years of video editing experience.
